God Loves To Save The Most Despicable Kinds Of People
   Home      Bema Seat

The Greek word translated "judgment seat" (bema.)
(Saved for works not by works)
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies.
Ephesians 2: 8-9 God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Romans 14: 10-12 So why do you condemn another Christian*? Why do you look down on another Christian? Remember, each of us will stand personally before the judgment seat of God.
1 Corinthians 3: 13-15 But there is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value. 14 If the work survives the fire, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builders themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames.

Do good to them! Lend to them! And don’t be concerned that they might not repay. For God has no favorites who can get away with evil.

Doctrine

2 John 1:8-11 Watch out, so that you do not lose the prize for which we* have been working so hard. Be diligent so that you will receive your full reward. 9 For if you wander beyond the teaching of Christ, you will not have fellowship with God. But if you continue in the teaching of Christ, you will have fellowship with both the Father and the Son. 10 If someone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite him into your house or encourage him in any way. 11 Anyone who encourages him becomes a partner in his evil work.

1John 2:15-17 5:5 (15. Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only the lust for physical pleasure, the lust for everything we see, and pride in our possessions. These are not from the Father. They are from this evil world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever.
1John 5:5 And the ones who win this battle against the world are the ones who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Continual prayer

Luke 18:1 1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to illustrate their need for constant prayer and to show them that they must never give up.

James 5:16-18 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.

Faithful church membership

1Ti 3:15 so that if I can’t come for a while, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and support of the truth.

Being a loving, providing husband

Ep. 5:25 And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God’s word.

Being a submissive , servicing wife

Ep. 5:22 You wives will submit to your husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his body, the church; he gave his life to be her Savior.
Tit 5:8 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5 to live wisely and be pure, to take care of their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.

Being an obedient child

Ep. 6:1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first of the Ten Commandments that ends with a promise. 3 And this is the promise: If you honor your father and mother, “you will live a long life, full of blessing.”

Gospel preaching and world evangelization

Mk. 16:15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere

Sacrificing for Christ

Mk 10:29 And Jesus replied, “I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News,

Approving excellent things

Ph. 1:10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until Christ returns.

Being pure in spirit and body

2 Co. 7:1 Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete purity because we fear God.
We will give account of every word we speak Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Christians will give an account for every idle (useless) word spoken. We fail to appreciate how powerful our words are and how wicked our tongue James 3:5-6) Christians should learn how to "hold their tongue." To many times we speak without thinking; we complain without considering; we discuss without knowing. We are going to give an account for every idle word we speak. We should think about what we say and consider the effects of what we say before we speak.
We will give an account of our lives lived. I Timothy 5:24 Remember that some people lead sinful lives, and everyone knows they will be judged. But there are others whose sin will not be revealed until later. 25 In the same way, everyone knows how much good some people do, but there are others whose good deeds won’t be known until later.
. We will give an account of our stewardship. Luke 16:1 “A rich man hired a manager to handle his affairs, but soon a rumor went around that the manager was thoroughly dishonest. 2 So his employer called him in and said, ‘What’s this I hear about your stealing from me? Get your report in order, because you are going to be dismissed. Give an account of thy stewardship; I Corinthians 4:2 Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful. 3 What about me? Have I been faithful?
Those in positions of authority will give an account.
Hebrews 13:17 Remember your leaders who first taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and trust the Lord as they do. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves:
We will give an account of our witnessing. Ezekiel 3:18 If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible, demanding your blood for theirs. 19 If you warn them and they keep on sinning and refuse to repent, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved your life because you did what you were told to do Acts 20:26 Let me say plainly that I have been faithful. No one’s damnation can be blamed on me,* 27 for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants for you.
